The Day Itself

The gates open at 3:00 PM, with the ceremony beginning promptly at 4:00 PM. We ask that you arrive by 3:30 PM to find your seat and settle in — the processional waits for no one, faire time or otherwise.

Both will take place at Thornfield Meadow. The ceremony is outdoors on the great lawn (weather permitting), and the reception follows under the pavilion tents just beyond it. A full address and parking map will be included on your invitation.

Outdoors, under open sky, as the old traditions intend. Should the weather turn foul, we have a covered pavilion as our contingency — either way, the vows will be spoken.

The revelry concludes at 11:00 PM. Transportation details for the journey home will be shared closer to the date.

Attire & Theme

In spirit, yes. Expect touches of pageantry — a bit of music, a bit of mead, a bit of theatre — woven into an otherwise familiar wedding. Think "inspired by" rather than "full theatrical reenactment."

Not at all — garden formal attire is welcome and encouraged. That said, if you own a cloak, a corset, or a particularly fine doublet, we will not stop you. A few guests have hinted they're bringing their faire best, so don't be surprised if the crowd is a bit theatrical.

Garden formal: think earthy jewel tones, flowing fabrics, and comfortable shoes for grass. We'd gently discourage stark white or ivory, reserved for our wedding party, and heels thinner than a coin — the lawn is unforgiving to stilettos.

A modest archery target, a lawn game or two, and live music will be on hand during cocktail hour. No jousting, we're afraid — our insurance policy has its limits.

Travel & Lodging

We've held room blocks at two nearby inns, roughly fifteen minutes from the venue. Booking details and codes are on the Travel page of our main site, and we'd recommend reserving early — the town fills up quickly in September.

Yes, free on-site parking is available. Attendants will direct you upon arrival, and the field is level enough for most vehicles.

A shuttle will run between the room-block inns and the venue at set times before the ceremony and after the reception. The full schedule will be shared closer to the day.

We adore your little ones, but we've chosen to keep our celebration adults-only, save for members of the wedding party. We hope this gives everyone a rare night off to enjoy the revelry.

Food & Drink

Indeed — wine, beer, and a signature mead cocktail will flow freely throughout the evening, alongside a full bar for the less medieval-minded.

A plated dinner with a choice of two mains, served family-style with shared sides — a nod to the long feasting tables of old, minus the turkey legs (mostly).

Absolutely. A note field on your RSVP will let you flag any allergies or dietary needs, and our caterer will happily accommodate vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free requests.

Guests & Gifts

We ask that you respond by the first of August, either through the RSVP page on our main site or the card enclosed with your invitation.

Your invitation will indicate whether a plus one has been included. If you're unsure, feel free to reach out to us directly and we'll gladly confirm.

Your presence is truly the only gift we ask for. For those who insist, a registry link is available on the main site — and a small chest for cards will be set out at the reception.

Reach out any time using the details below — we're happy to help however we can.

Guest Etiquette

Yes — we ask that phones and cameras stay tucked away during the ceremony itself, so everyone (including us) can be fully present. Our photographer will be capturing every moment, and those images will be shared with all of you afterward.

Once cocktail hour begins, snap away to your heart's content. If you post to social media, we'd love it if you used our wedding hashtag, which will be listed on a sign at the entrance, so we can find and treasure your photos too.

Toasts are reserved for the best man, best woman, and a few close family members, arranged ahead of time. If you're not on the list but feel moved to say something, we'd be glad to have you share it with us privately during the evening instead.

We understand the night runs long. If you must slip away before the final farewell, we only ask that you do so quietly and, if possible, find one of us for a quick embrace on your way out rather than vanishing without a word.

If you'd like to bring a card or a small gift, a chest will be set out at the reception for safekeeping. We'd gently discourage bringing anything large or fragile, given the walk from the parking field to the pavilion.

Only that we ask you arrive with an open heart and a willingness to be a little merry. A toast of mead may find its way to you at some point in the evening — accepting it is entirely optional, but encouraged.
